We Have A History

Our
Story
Every story starts somewhere. Ours began in 2013 when we hosted a young man from
Northern Ireland as part of a youth exchange program. This led to our son forming a
friendship with the young man who was connected to a church that was connected to an
international faith-based humanitarian organization. Our son joined the organization on a
1-year internship and when visiting him in Northern Ireland, we met the founders of the
organization and quickly formed a strong friendship. And that led to a passion for the
world-wide work they were doing. For Tara, it was Africa, in particular Burkina Faso and the
aids orphans desperately in need of help. For Brent, it was Eastern Europe, in particular the
churches in the former Soviet Union and Russia. Eventually, that led to both Tara and Brent
leaving Canada and accepting positions with the organization. And then, the creation of
their own charity work: Tin House Canada.
Beginning with creating sponsorship programs for aids orphans in Burkina Faso, Tin House
Canada expanded into other projects and partnerships in many countries in need of hope,
help, and healing. Now headquartered in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Tin House Canada has
opened a shop with the specific purpose of raising funds for projects both locally and
around the world. We continue to expand as we partner with missionaries and other
individuals passionately spreading the mission of bringing hope, help, and healing, to a
hurting world.
